About
Christian Martine of Daniels, West Virginia, is an advocate for substance abuse prevention in West Virginia and across the country.
Within SADD, Christian serves on the Executive Committee of the SADD National Student Leadership Council where he assists in the planning of prevention programs, serves as a national spokesperson for SADD, and participates in the planning of national conferences.
He is the president of the SADD chapter at Shady Spring High School. His school has been a part of many awareness projects and other activities promoting a drug-free school and community. Christian is currently working with emergency medical teams and law enforcement officers in the planning of a mock car crash expected to be held during prom season that will include a pre-event campaign and post-event campaign to extend the effect.
On the state level, he serves on the West Virginia SADD Student Leadership Council and assists in the preparation for state conferences. He also actively assists with the creation of SADD chapters in his state. Christian serves on the field services team where he promotes communication between the chapters and provides a medium for chapters to ask questions.
Appointed by Governor Joe Manchin, III, Christian serves on the West Virginia Partnership to Promote Community Well-Being. The WV Partnership is the state’s designated substance abuse prevention planning and policy body. Christian serves on the Communication, Procedures, and Legislative Affairs Workgroup.
An exceptional student, Christian is the Salutatorian for the Shady Spring High School class of 2010. He is a West Virginia Student of Excellence, recipient of President’s Volunteer Service Award, and is an Elks National Scholar. He has received accolades in competitions including Model United Nations, We the People Oratorical Competition, and West Virginia Math Field Day.
He holds the title of Secretary of State of Mountaineer Boys’ State, Senior Director of Key Club, and Student Body Treasurer. He holds membership in the National Honor Society, American MENSA, the Education Committee of the Beckley Raleigh County Chamber of Commerce, and the Distributions Committee of the Beckley Area Foundation. Christian is also a Certified Public Address Announcer.
Christian is a senior at Shady Spring High School.
